Description:

AAAC conductor are made out from aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy of high
 electrical conductivity (min 53% IACS) containing magnesium (0.6-0.9%) & silicon (0.5-0.9%) to give it better mechanical properties after treatment. AAAC conductors are made out of aluminum alloy 6201. AAAC conductor has a better corrosion resistance and better strength to weight ratio and improved electrical conductivity than ACSR conductor on equal diameter basis.

Compared with traditional steel core aluminum stranded wire, high-strength aluminum alloy wire and heat-resistant low-resistance aluminum alloy wire have the following advantages: (1) Under the same unit weight, the DC resistance of the aluminum alloy conductor is small, the current carrying capacity is large, and the tensile force It has the advantages of large tensile strength and large weight-to-weight ratio; (2) Compared with the same current-carrying capacity, aluminum alloy wires are important in light weight, large tensile strength, and large tensile weight-to-weight ratio. Aluminum alloy wire is a single material wire, easy to install and construct; (3) Aluminum alloy wire has low load-bearing risk resistance level; (4) The service life of ordinary steel core aluminum strands is about 50 years, and the service life of aluminum alloy wires is 100~120 More than years.

The conductors used in overhead transmission lines are basically still traditional steel-cored aluminum stranded wires. Due to their relatively weak heat resistance, the transmission capacity of the lines is subject to certain restrictions. The high-strength heat-resistant all-aluminum alloy wire has outstanding advantages such as good heat resistance, large current carrying capacity, high tensile strength, light weight, good sag characteristics, and excellent corrosion resistance. It is used in the transformation of old lines and has outstanding capacity increasing effects. It can also save a lot of metal materials and infrastructure investment, especially suitable for lines that require high strength and large capacity, and can significantly improve transmission capacity and line safety.
